Do birth control pills help with extremely painful periods and bad acne?

I've been having my period since the 4th grade (I'm in 10th now). But for the past 3 years they have gotten extremely painful and they come with a wave of terrible acne I'm not to worried about the acne a couple days after the end of my period most of it is gone but the pain is killing me. There are times when I can't even stand even hunched over, I throw up at least once a period, and heavy bleeding. Could the pill help with the pain? Or anything else?
